If they are getting newly fabricated wafers by end 1Q (4 weeks), why waste time/energy/money on a low probability rectification effort?

Also, can someone indicate what would be the next step after getting the newly fabricated wafers....all things proceeding as planned, how far are they off in being able to take this market players to show what they have.

I think there is every point in continuing the rectification effort. If there is an unexpected glitch in the new wafer run, we would have nothing if we couldn't fall back on the reworked wafers. Continuing with the rework effort is simply insurance.
