The wording of the announcement suggests two things quite clearly:

1. The ADRC stack will be an optional extra (not a standard component) on the Smart Home Solutions platform. As the announcement says:

"ADRC provides Intel’s ODMs, OEMs and ISVs the option to use Xped’s “Tap” for device discovery, provisioning, and pairing, as well as, Xped’s RML and Xped App technology for improved time-to-market solutions within the Internet of Things space

2. Xped is now moving towards licensing with Intel's customers, not Intel. As Martin says the announcement:

“Following the successful porting of ADRC onto the Intel IoT Gateway Solution, the Company is moving forward and engaging with Intel’s customer base for licensing opportunities”.

Intel is assisting in this process.

The challenge is to sell the benefits of including the ADRC stack on the platform. If the perceived benefits exceed the costs, that should not be too difficult. But the benefits must be relevant and compelling to those clients, irrespective of what Intel thinks.
