Hi RKB,
I wouldn’t see QHL as an insecure parts supplier, quite the opposite based on what they’ve done thus far, but may be misunderstanding the context of that comment. Also I can’t see Lockheed, Boeing and the like taking parts back to the US to be manufactured. The F35 contract signed with the Aus govt for instance, had a very strict mandate on local suppliers being involved, in order for Lockheed to get the contract. Let alone the licensing a manufacturer would need and sign offs etc required to move to a new manufacturer, at the very least it would add to the cost of the project overall which is not what they’re trying to achieve at the moment per plane.
