The dynamics of producing hydrogen are very different from mining and mineral processing. The fact that it is linked to clean energy, akin to graphite used for lithium-ion batteries, seems like a fragile connection that might not generate much synergy.
Needless to say, the value of the deal reflects how far behind Ebony still is from cash flowing. Hexagon is thus advancing multiple projects at an early, cash-intensive, stage of development.
Upcoming information on Ebony might dispel the above rationale... lets wait and see.
