As I said in a previous discussion about a demerger, "there may come a time where the company must demerger the lithium, as once any I contracts, offttake or partnerships on the lithium asset would become a legal nightmare whilst the assests (gold and lithium) are conjoined".

Any of the aforementioned contracts could not be completed with the legal implications remaining. I think that it has come to that trigger point and one of the "interested parties" is ready for the next step in progressing their interest to a formal level and the legal implications are hindering progress.
