I would say the logic is that this is a short term arrangement and not a full time position so there is flexibility going forward. $300ph sounds like a lot but there is no super and other entitlements
One thing comes to mind is that if try was going into administration they would be doing so now, I am still thinking there is some sort of deal with Barrick going on and they need some one like Richard to be at the table.
Any way time is ticking along and at this stage by the 13th October we should know what' going down
