If mining underground and see visible gold in the face then rule of thumb is generally 15g/t +.
However in drilling visible gold is extremely hard to predict grade. There are many examples of of drill core showing visible gold, and the it all depends on the assay techniques used. The reality is that visible gold in drill core could give assay results of <1g/t or many hundreds of grams per tonne.
Visible gold in drill core is NOT representative of the overall ore body. In fact it can be a distraction, and even if the grades are super high a geostatician will topcut the grade in resource estimation as the high extreme grades are not representative of the entire ore body
