Some good thoughts there, the power grid nationally poses lots of issues with our sprawling population, base load power at times unable to keep up, excess inflow from solar at non-peak times, and many rural areas suffering regular power loss as they are on the grid fringe and it can’t cope.
Lots of problems too though, e.g. the power market doesn’t appear to be a huge money maker for anyone,
too much Govt interference in pricing.
In WA they were rolling out satellite power stations to those rural areas suffering supply issues using a combination of renewables & storage. Each one was a multi-million dollar job and there were 50-60 of them required across WA. The company that was picking up that work (I think it was ECM) went into receivership 9-12 months ago - they had hundreds of millions worth of jobs in the pipeline but still went under so this highlighted to me how difficult that market is.
