Hey V and Harken
I agree the B2B distribution question is an interesting one.
I suppose when it comes to sharing fleets, some clients will probably have their own mechanics/technicians (especially in cases like Go-sharing where they say I'll have 500 of those for Rotterdam), so would probably operate independently from local distributors in that case.
With the delivery last mile examples, I figure they might need a little more felxible approach and could include independent support if city-based fleet big enough or if they purchase through master franchises like Greenmo.
Some other operators who engage self-employed contractors would probably see owner / operators reliant on local distributors or broader based mobs like Greenmo.
Thing is that by separating the B2C and B2B franchises, they have the flexibility to shape support facilities according to the needs of the individual clients.
It was interesting and good to see that the company made a point of gathering distributors prior to Eicma to get buy-in to the sdetails of the strategy.
Also interesting that according to piece published on the K's thread that the company is appointing a B2B sales manager in Europe. Consequently, I see it as a sign they are expecting a surge in that sector come Q1 / Q2. It also plays into your commentary on how Charles is stepping back a bit in line with company growth and the emerging need for managers to complement the entrepreneurial skills of CC.
Also notable to see that the marketing is going to be controlled out of Italy for all Europe.
All good signs that they are working hard at establishing a sound distribution channel with all the necessary support and freeing up Charles etc to focus on expanding the different geographical and various segment markets.
Chuffed to read that they got over 100 sales leads from Eicma according to K's cited article.
Finally, I was pleasantly amused to read about the re-boot into Vietnam. Huge market and an opportunity to capture the original 'dream'. Gone full circle and this time better product, better support.
Cheers
