First time back post the drop from 37c, just to share a personal experience in risk, reward, remorse and resilience.

I don't hold any shares at present. On the morning the sp dropped I was in Cairns in a motel room, flew there because my elderly father broke his hip and they flew him from Weipa to Cairns and I flew up to oversee his care.

I had been heavily T2 trading in the days leading up to D day. I was continually pushing out a $180k debt by trading old faithful, FMG. (RISK)
Anyway when the price dropped to 9.7c I was essentially margin called. Managed to sell my 1milion odd HIO shares at 10.5 to limit the damage somewhat. (But didn't cover what I owed the trading platform) REMORSE.

So owing the trading platform $81k, and a tax bill of $66k from a very successful year before, off I toddled to the bank to secure a home equity loan.
To that point I had turned a $140000 portfolio into a $1.2million portfolio in the 12 months to March. REWARD, then lost the lot.
I can fully understand when traders can drink champagne from their shoe in the morning then jump out a window that night. I wasn't close but I understood the emotion.

But have I given up? No. RESILIENCE.
My God I have learnt a lot, even from others on this thread, like when Pezz said his stop loss was at 20 or 25c and he averaged out at 18 because of the speed of the drop. Who's ever experienced that?

Anyway, didn't jump out that window. Didn't lose my home and if I can make rude amounts of money in a short period of time, I will do it again.
I truely believe that it's through your worst mistakes, that you learn.
And I will buy back in hopefully this month, so keep me on that email list Slider.
