Indeed its a rough time for retirees. I dont feel alone by any means. My situation is my fault.....I stuffed my SMSF by holding on to stocks I couldnt bring myself to sell.
Big mistake. One should never fall in love with a stock.
You mentioned BC..........look at MCR, a very responsibly and well run company that has ALWAYS paid a dividend.....till now, when it's closing down its Nickel mines till the metal recovers. Those who overlooked the inevitable for the dividend as the sp fell will be wondering. And some retirees with managed funds have been cleaned out by those managing their funds for a fee. At least I can only blame myself, really. Mate, I'll never hold a share long term again .....I'll trade...in and out.
Yes, the SS will be interesting. I may hang in till then .....unless we get hungry, lol.
Then again, if I see an opportunity elsewhere, I wont. Lets see what happens.
