My understanding is, that they are aiming at pyrolysis of (bio?)-methane for the Mt. Peake case.
With abundant amounts of low cost renewable electricity, hydrogen production cost is heading south.
At the same time, TNG will be able to avoid buying carbon credits - the price of which is predicted to go through the roof over the next years (which is also one of the reasons why Twiggy is moving into green energy, I suspect...).
TNG and SMS are doing exactly the right thing, at the right time.
