I think in the past they haven't really found what EXACTLY they were going to do with the product. It's certainly important and required, but they weren't sure who to target. So I'd imagine there were issues that has been identified by many people, leading to interest in trialling out BOOM1. But potentially the product wasn't the complete solution the market required/needed. Hence after trial, my guess is that they would not have continued.

Another factor is having smaller FPs, as mentioned in my previous post, they would not necessarily find the benefit of BOOM1/2, simply because there is no need for them (as HAC has mentioned). A small business is able to give that extra detail and they can afford to do it. A bigger business won't as they require speed and efficiency; which is where BOOM2 comes in.

Remember, BOOM2 enables FPs to concentrate on working with the client. Only big businesses will have such a huge flow of numbers to fully take advantage of BOOM2.
