AMP took large equity stakes in, or completely bought out, many of the larger aligned practices over the last few years. They will continue to do so.
The large practices were astute seeing the writing on the wall and taking advantage of the ludicrous multiple AMP offered to buy their practices. You can see the outrage in the last couple of weeks with AMP reducing their generous buyer of last resort closer to true market value (but still above at 2.5x).
