I'm not sure if I'm the only one but I'm glad to be back as a shareholder of RED (admittedly after only a relatively short absence).
And if smaller retail investors are voting with their feet, I'd suggest some larger ones may also be active traders. Volumes these days are quite large. Still for every share sold, there's one bought and I know I'm not the only buyer active lately.
RED is now a company attracting institutional interest because of its size, its prospective increase in profitability and its potential to participate in any Leonora consolidation.
If I was on the Board of Directors, I'd reckon these factors should be enough to excite existing and potential investors. I'd also be reflecting that the majority of my shareholders (majority by shares held not by number of legs and arms) would not in the least want to see the company's cash resources wasted by paying out an unfranked dividend (probably yielding 1-2% pa at most).
Rather, they'd expect to see the Board use the cash instead to find and acquire assets that'll generate a lot higher return for shareholders than a paltry dividend (at not much more of a yield than could be obtained on a bank deposit).
