It is interesting to see the varied sentiment with regards to Ophir. You definitely wouldn't have seen this kind of chat 2 years ago. I tend to see the same sentiment shift for WAM closed funds.
Although the recent performance has been underwhelming, the fund is also at the mercy of the complete downfall of closed funds (LICs and LITs).
Even the best performing closed funds at the moment are trading at discounts. Truth be told, the investment vehicle is loathed by most, and definitely avoided by younger investors.
The ongoing discount of over 10% isn't helping. It's making returns look even worse.
On a positive note, they finally changed their DRP policy. It's always refreshing when fund managers listen...
