I agree with everything you have said. I do not have a clue as to the detail in Wilson's strategy and I would not try to guess but I have mainly posted the information due to its possible influence on the LIC market as a whole. I hold quite a few LICs within my portfolio having invested as early as 1993 when Bankers Trust funds existed. I have made money and lost money on LICs and I can only say that generally they are priced according to the whims of the market (eg CDM was priced in late Mar 2020 at less than they held in cash and no value was attributed to their investments at all). As you say some of the holders do not have a clue as to the actual value and how the portfolio is structured and why. But the market is the price and all holders are at the whim of weak and nervous hands.
