No Megaport appliances required at the office locations. MVE integrates with Cisco, FortiNet, VMWare and Versa SD-WAN solutions and these would need to be deployed at office locations.
My guess is that these appliance types will be virtualised at the MVE end and are deployed via API calls to a CI/CD pipeline that deploys appliances to something like Cisco NFVIS at the hypervisor layer.
MCR really paved the way for MVE as the underlining hardware/hypervisor will service both products types.
SD-WAN really annoys me as there is no RFC standard for SD-WAN tunnels, therefore each vendor SD-WAN algos are proprietary unlike IPSec or GRE. E.G, You must have FortiNet SD-WAN appliances at each end of the tunnel.
