On another thread, for an altogether different biotech, the question was asked whether the company who have a promising drug in clinical trials would go all the way. The usual strategy is not to go all the way but to find a buyer at the most opportune time once the clinic has been reached. For single product biotechs it arguably makes little sense to go all the way. PYC, however, far from being a single product biotech, is a platform biotech of the highest order. Solving the delivery problem for RNA therapeutics have placed PYC on the cusp of ushering in a new age of precision medicine.
I missed the investor call but was tremendously encouraged to read comments. The science and technology, the people, the opportunity for academic collaboration, the clinical program and the strategy for growth all point to a biotech that has reached the conclusion that now is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning. Or, as the CEO is recorded as saying 'we're not even at the starting line in terms of where we want to be'.
