Every technology especially in current day and age, has privacy and utility trade off. If you want to entirely focus on the reviews that raise privacy concerns just because it supports your narrative does not paint the full picture and vice versa. Onus to maintain that balance and intended use is up to user themselves. In human civilisation everything is subject to misuse, whether it be AI, weapons, pain medications, social media especially instagrams and FB for example subjects to continuous bashing from main stream media yet it has helped many people to grow businesses, connect with people instantly because majority of people see utility of it and incorporate in their daily life. People will choose safety over privacy because it is just in our DNA to feel certain, comfortable and safe about our family members and loved ones. If this was doing more harm than good, you would have already seen big backlash in Main stream media, slower app download, decreasing active users and so on. Again, you argue that there is a way to manipulate the app download and so on- 250 million downloads manipulated??? You can argue on the financial, business model, prospects of profitability but without evidence you shouldn't make big allegations like that.
