Recurring question answered looking beyond aviation. By application why SMS chose aviation. They chose aviation industry as they have very strict procedures on inspection of cracks. Once you have broken into aviation, the barriers to other industries are easier.
SMS not willing to divert from aerospace application right now.
Mining equip and other transport systems would be next area.
CVM can work on many materials, work on any solid material.
Not reliant on specific material. Use on plastic, composite, metals.
Another question raised - what can it do when corrosion occurs. in time there will be other technologies in CVM that will detect this along with crack detection. Corrosion is prevented by SMS cvm by preventing access from the environment ??
