I'm not defending him and saying it was great, but i also don't think it was as disastrous as some are saying, there were definitely many areas to improve on though absolutely.
Neil must have trusted him to do the job and in this case he got that call wrong, but Neil can't do everything and sooner or later others such as Matt need to step up and prove they are up to the job.
