I patronised Dan Murphy's today in inner Melbourne. In beer it had an excellent range, and what seemed competitive prices.
Carlton Dry (case of 24 stubbies): Dan's members' price $48.95 (non-members $54.99); Amazon $54.99
Great Northern Super Crisp (case of 24 stubbies): Dan's members' price $46.95; non-member $50.99; Amazon $59.99.
I won't go on as the process is tedious. Good luck to you if you buy from Amazon but like all retailers, it's a fallacy it's always cheaper.
This reminds me of many Australians who go to WES' Bunnings. It has its advantages but I have sometimes found MTS' Mitre 10 (including smaller ones) to be cheaper, and definitely to offer better service.
