I last bought some DEG in October at 97.5c at the time of the SPP. This was below the issue price. I continue to hold most of my investment but at the time needed some cash. I am nervous about the overall market in regard to a world recession and so prefer to lessen my exposure to equities at present. Gold stocks can be expected to be hit in the initial stages of a downturn. I am considering moving into physical gold since the POG is more stable and if stagflation takes hold through central banks losing their nerve and so pumping the money supply again then POG should take off. Interest rates have improved but are still negative in real terms.
DEG remains one of the mainstays in my portfolio, along with CHN. They are both attracting international interest with corporate action possibilities and continue to expand their resources strongly with MRE updates expected.
I liked the latest DEG presentation and thought the potential came across well and so looking forward to seeing the DFS later on.
The MC at present is around 16% below the post tax NPV in the PFS, although this was at a 5% discount rate which is a bit low in the current environment. As I say, I am looking forward to seeing the DFS with updated cost estimates.
