JP is doing some wonderful things in the gold space. Credit where it is due. Yes there was a misstep with Focus but it is easy to be wise after the event. It is in other commodities that he is found wanting. The previous CEO of MRP voiced his opinion that after the silver Nimbus would become a large open cut copper zinc mine. This would be massive news for other companies (Cymprian?) and they would be shouting it out to anyone who would listen.
Look at the low billing Nimbus received in the press release. The coverage of Richmond was embarrassingly out of date. JP said Nimbus would be viable at $25 US an ounce. He said that at a time it seemed unlikely ever to get to that level. Now that benchmark has been passed, - nothing. The problem being it is not gold. At the time I said I thought we gave Richmond away too cheaply and I am afraid that we will not capitalise on Nimbus fully either. Why? Because it’s not gold.
