@binwood
I would like to elaborate in case the point may be like the pic below.
eg: let's have another look at Toweranna.
So we can say that we have 4.8-5.6 mt @2.1-2.3g/t.
If we are to separate the quartz successfully with the Tomra, ( I have been told that this ore type is very suitable to this type of sorter).
Let's now assume that 10% of the material is quartz, that is a reduction of 90% of the waste.
Instead of reading it as 4.8-5.6 mt @2.1-2.3 we can now read it as 10% of the bulk material = 90% reduction in bulk or 90 x the grade which would equal 189g/t.
Historically this was mined at 5000 oz @40g/t. How was that achieved unless they chased the quartz?
Novo have already proven a 2% pull rate which equates to a grade increase of 98x.
We still have to excavate 100% it but not process 100%
This is why underground processing is even more critical.
You leave the waste underground and use it for backfill like in Ravenswood.
Don't compare the material unless it is comparable.
Granite is very amenable to Ore Sorting for this reason.
If I am wrong, I will be happy to eat humble pie but I hope this gives a reasonable logic.
Kind regards, Wack.
