I think with tweaking, NMT will be able to up their yield, so I'm not too concerned in that regard. Also, the market for battery recycling will be much larger than just EVs. E-bikes have been outselling conventional bikes in Europe for a couple of years now. You've got laptops, mobile phones. Gardening equipment, DIY tools etc. I think given the vast amount of maufactors that export their products across the world, it isn't feasible to ship these products backwards and forwards for recycling. The EU will incentive that these essential metals travel the least amount of kilometres as possible.
