It's in all our interests to have better informed retail holders. Unlike instos., many of us don't have the time or inclination to listen to what initially is largely a repeat of the presentation slides. Some analysts' questions are highly technical, financially speaking, and at times 'leave me cold' as they will other generalists.
One impression was that CFO Mr Paul Lewis was more assured and across the detail than CEO Mr Paul Digney, the latter at times being rather hesitant.
It was the first time Mr Digney as CEO had presented annual results (Mr Maurice James, who I met once, has retired - good operator) so even for highly paid executives there must be a degree of nervousness given analysts and retail shareholders ask questions about a huge range of subjects.
