Those who know more such as madamswer may have a different view, but I thought the result was satisfactory and in some spots, better than my very pessimistic outlook.

There's been a 25 per cent rise in sales revenue with the Mojo acquisition but a 45 per cent rise in inventory. If I'm not mistaken, that indicates slower stock turns and lesser demand.

Very encouraging that although sales of new and used motorcyles declined two to three per cent at MTO, this significantly outperformed the subsector.

The gradual increase in market share may well be helpful in wholesale price negotiations and in attracting manufacturers to give MTO every assistance.

On a like-for-like basis, sales declined, but that's to be expected given around 15 per cent of households in Australia are said to be suffering mortgage stress.

The $1.5 million in acquisition expenses may not be repeated in FY 24.

Bank interest was up an incredible 759 per cent. Gross and EBITDA margins decreased. Is the inflation devil to blame, or did MTO have to have more frequent retail price reductions or sales?

The finance operation doesn't seem very profitable (A$1 million with MTO's half share). However I know little or nothing about whether this is normal. At least MTO says delinquencies are (at present) not a concern. Will that change if interest rates rise another 0.5 or one per cent?

Dividend is flat but this is a good outcome given the woes some retailers such as KGN have been experiencing.

I suppose it's possible in a (for 2023) perceived high interest rate environment that some small, independent competitors may go to the wall.

A better than expected result, but I'd love comments from those more acquainted with this highly specialised subsector.
