In early Wednesday 30 August 2023 trading, a most impressive rise of 15.45 per cent in MTO's SP to A$1.98, up A$0.265 on volume of just above 137,000.
This sort of positive reaction is unusual in Australia's lacklustre sharemarket at present, but suggests that yesterday morning, 'Mr Market' shared my super pessimistic outlook for the company.
Great that I've been proven incorrect - not for the first time, although challenges remain given the inflation bogeyman is still a problem. The ABS measure to be released today won't have covered all categories in its July analysis so even if the headline figure is lower, it may not tell the full story.
