I haven't quite got to the point of thinking IFL is a buy. I will wait and see what the RC concludes.
It seems to me that it is difficult to predict what impact the RC will have on IFL. In particular, what will be the potential damage to its reputation as a organisation if the RC's report is highly critical of its conduct and culture. That could result in a loss of advisers, clients and FUM. There is also the potential for greater and more restrictive operating conditions being imposed on IFL leading to greater compliance costs. Potentially, there is even a risk of loss of the required FSLs if the RC finds that there have been numerous breaches of obligations and duties. Add to that the ever present risk of class action litigation. I am sure IMF (amongst others) will be watching closely.
There remain too many uncertainties for me at the moment.
