Agreed, this is something you see all of the time in the small/midcap sector with UBS as prime broker for shorts. I think many investment managers look at IOOF as the ideal short due to its market leverage, as pointed out by @Transversal. Normally, in my experience, this type of move is short term in nature and UBS often disappears off the register after a few weeks or months.
