Intresting article and gives insight to why Kvanefjeld is being targeted by Enviromental groups, even though they are focusing on REE, it'll still be one of the largest Uranium sites.
though what plays closer to home for EPM in Ivittuut is the fact EPM isn't located right next to a UNESCO site, unlike Kvanefjeld. Which is good for EPM and helping minimising the concerns regarding the EIA and public consultations on the road to gaining the ML. We dont have to worry about being next door to world heritage sites which will attract a lot of controversy and publicity.
Also brings in how a brownfield site that already has tailings should be easier to environmentally manage, especially where there is some good resources in the tailings already there.
It will be interesting to watch the road ahead for Ivittuut. I'm sure we still have plenty of downrampers jumping in trying to justify their other Greenland investments, though that's nothing. I'm interested to see what the government will say when we get closer to a ML. just have to wait and see. I'll guess that it'll be nothing like the process that Kvanefjeld has gone through and the process will be much quicker
