From memory, NMT ran a partner selection program a few years ago, around 2017/2018. Most of the HNR/CM personnel were already located in Europe & Scandinavia with knowledge & experience in the minerals sector. Having people on the ground close to where the project is located would be advantageous, considering NMT is half a world away.

CM/HNR were the ones who secured the slag supply agreement with SSAB, so they're kind of crucial to the whole enterprise.

Plus, it's just what NMT has always done, bringing in partners to develop a project. Perhaps one advantage is they have the ability to source funding from two shareholder bases, instead of just tapping into one.

As far as I know, Damian & Chris are mates, along with Michael O'leary-Collins, which also helps. I believe they all went to Uni together, but I could be wrong.
