I don'd know if you were in Melbourne for the race, I hope you were as it sounds like a great day / week out, but as the years have gone by, I have found that betting off track is too much of a punt. It's the little things in horses that determine the result and form going into a race is only a part of it. It's in the parade ring and even watching the canter to the start that you will see the evidence of what the stats are supposedly telling you! That and watching the market tells you everything, but you have to be willing to acknowledge it. I was hoping to finish this with a wise comparison to the stock market but you and the regulars are too knowledgable for that. So instead will recount what a well known horse trainer told me when I asked him for a good tip, he said 'Don't stand up in a dingy!'
