Ausheds, what you refer to in terms cheaper prices from China is true but is not unique to the RE industry. It is true in practically ever industry that China currently dominates. But it does not mean they cannot continue to build.
The bottom line is that in the US you need lobbyist and insiders. And that is hard to do if you do not already have a presence in the US. That is why they should build anyway. It was no coincidence that the Energy Policy Act of 2005, that allowed the resurgence of US oil industry, was enacted when the vice president of the US was the former CEO of Halliburton. Policies in the US are created for the good of those who have the most influence. Lynas needs to show stronger leadership.
