To give some context to how much generation capacity is 20k mwh.
malaysias entire generation capacity is 40k mwh, 20k mwh for 30mil ppl residential usage and 20k mwhs is for industry. And that is including the 4k mwhs from samalaju.
press metals usage is about 1.2k mwh. And the company is valued at rm40bil.
16k mwhs is equivalent 13 pressmetals. The hydro capacity is enormous and the government should have the relevant initiatives to push to tap the available hydropower resource.
its an incredible boost to the economy of east Malaysia. Its almost certainly a win. As the industries that invest will have a definitive edge over competitors due to lower energy costs.
this isnt even taking into account the spilloever effects and potential development of downstream supply chain for the materials.
also the boost from constructing the hydrodams.
