what I realised is that the MSP channel isn't exactly low-hanging fruit for MSFT. SMEs are annoying little creatures and a backup service seems fairly high touch. So the cave we are hiding in is safe from gorilla for a while.
also Charif explains good security hygiene is to separate the BAU provider from the backup one. With data sitting in Azure.. it makes sense to back it up into AWS, even if its overkill for most use cases. But to IT professionals it's probably "best practice" and helps minimise risk of blame (or loss of job) in event of catastrophe.
