that's fair but what worries me is that ALK missed it and the only reason why they missed it is because of a board and an MD who are incompetent.

no one actually knows for sure if the ground is good or not until someone drills it out properly. but when such ground becomes available and one has a operating mine and a plant nearby they should be monitoring like hawks and snap that ground before anyone else. then test it and find out. NCM held that ground for long time and they would not if they did not think it was worth holding.
NEM is different company - they mainly focus on acquiring assets and lot less on organic growth even though they do spend fair bit on exploration.

let's see what MAG does with this ground. all I am saying is they certainly acted before anyone else and took the ground. The moment NCM agreed to be taken I gave ALK heads up to look for ground NEM will be letting go as they always do this when they buy another company. They sell anything that does not have LOM and ground that, in their views, will not produce Tier 1 mine.
But if the ground does hold potential to produce around 2-3Moz will certainly be attractive to the likes of ALK or MAG even though NEM will not even consider exploring for such deposit.
