A stand-alone project may be the only option if the nearby mills don't have sufficient capacity to toll treat the GMD ore - assuming the neighbours haven't already put in a takeover bid by then.
With the gold price dropping a little there may be more opportunities to toll treat but my understanding is that 6-8 months ago most mills didn't have any additional capacity as they wanted to process their super low grade material with any spare capacity they had due to the high gold price at the time. This may have changed over time.
I'm sure we will see plenty of development on this front post resource update and as the DFS announcement approaches.
