I found this on the ATO community site.
Anyone organised in relation to tax loss selling would have done it before the last day possible however not everyone is organised.
As per below, share trades create a contract that then has delayed settlement so its the contract date not the settlement date that matters. 28th will be the last trading day before the tax year ends.
