One of the bits I liked was the green highlighted box's on the Transcontinental railway. Ferland Siding was noted and its obvious why - its next to Seymour. Vancouver is noted. The reason for this is unclear at present, but Vancouver is a big city.
Becancour is highlighted. Becancour is however a small town with a 2021 population estimate of 14,255. Why highlight such a small town? Well back in March 2022 this little town had a big announcement. General Motors and POSCO announced they were going to build a cathode active material plant there to build GM Ultium batteries. Those batteries will need Hydroxide and two obvious US/Canadian sources are PLL and GT1.
Not having heard the presentation yet, I don't know if the reason for highlighting Becancour was given but my guess is that GT1 is at in discussions with either General Motors or POSCO.
