I am not sure it’s rumour or true but its been several time Musk’s tweeted to acquire mining companies.





Musk says 'Tesla open to acquiring uranium mining company




Tesla is unlikely to take over another carmaker, Elon Musk said, but buying a miningpot out of the question.




Responding to an audience question about whether Tesla would use itmarket cap orother funds to buy a rival, Musk said: "I think it's unlikely. No.”


Buying a mining company, though, might be a different matter, particularly if it helpedTesla secure easier access to important natural resources.




“That's not out of the question,”Musk sald. "It's not that we wish to buy miningcompanies, but if that's the only way to accelerate the transition" to electric vehiclesthen the possibility was on the table.




Such an acquisition would only make sense, though, if Tesla were capable of changingthat mining company's trajectory.


Tesla recently struck a deal with Brazilian miner Vale to buy nickel needed for its batteries.
