Offtakes are imposed by financiers, aka lenders.
There is no hard and fast rule if project funding is already secured.
RNU can opt to formalised only 50% offtake, which leaves room to benefit from future price increase and acts as partial insurance if future price decreases.
A few mining companies practise partial offtakes.
