GOR for now is good but in another 5-6 years they'll need to have another stand alone project because Gruyere will be past it's peak and they'll need to replenish future ore reserves. In Terms of near term realistic growth (as asset they can take into production in the next 3 years) or an investment that can generates the equivalent return of 100-150koz/yr they'll have yet to find this. They missed out on AOP & 30% Tropicana, missed out on both.
DEG's Hemi will be the the 2nd largest producing gold mine in Australia once developed and if it was a stand alone development. DEG's valuation would be in excess of $4Bil. Please note that in the interim they'll need to likely raise another $200mil to complete further mine level drilling and fund some enabling works. + Capex over $1Billion (So around 20% of that raised through issue of new equitiy) so another $200mil. Let's round it up to $500mil.
Current market cap is about $1.3Bil so you'll need to factor dillution of around $500mil. The upside us that if they can do at it alone in 3 years time they'll be worth close to $4bil as a standalone solo miner.
There a risk/reward to both. The path is clearer for DEG. But GOR have better fundamentals for now but the path forward re acquisitions isn't that clear
