IMO they will not have a provision of $35 for the accident as they would have to be found responsible on every single count AND receive the maximum penalty for each one.
From memory they where advised to make no provision although that may have changed. I dont see anything like $35 million being imposed here.
Griffin coal was fined 220k 2 years ago over the death of a worker at a minesite. I am not trying to make light of a tragic accident but just think 35m is a media story and not reality.
On the bright side if they confirm 40% of profits for dividends I think we can look forward to some good paydays ahead.
