    The location would make it very difficult to identify the cells and harvest them from a live donor (although you might be successful if you used Optiscan's endoscopic confocal operating microscope). These cells consume a lot of oxygen so they are in a highly vascular area that might cause major haemorrhage that could be difficult to control and is difficult to access. And if you were thinking about close relative, type 1 diabetics have a strong hereditary component... Now foetal Islet cells might be wonderful since they might be accepted without immune rejection but there are always ethical arguments to solve
