It's a great catch phrase, just like EV's are the future.
That future seems to be getting further away all the time for EV's.
Google has given up on their self driving tech for cars.
It was always going to have to do so.
Tesla is in all sorts of trouble with theirs.
I have driven a new Land Cruiser where I had to intervene when it would not even dip the headlights correctly, and I am told that it will be able to drive the whole car autonomously. BS
There are literally billions of different scenarios when driving that can only be catered for by the human brain, even though my (brain) is well out of warranty now.
They may well be the future, but the problem for us old farts is that we will not see the future, so chasing things that will be needed then, are of no good for a comfortable retirement NOW!
The base metals that have always been in demand will still be needed then also.
