"Brain Health Registry" still kicking along..... yet again a positive mention in California today.
They are moving the push into Southern Cali now.... starting to get more of the west coast set involved.
Numbers ticking up too...... with a mention of a 18 month "recruitment" target of 100,000 folks.....
That is news to me.... nice to have clear goal.
It was approx 25,000 already tested/enrolled at the 12 month anniversary of the trial couple months back.... so hopefully does a little bit of a snow ball effect from here as one person tells two... two tell four.... four tell eight....... tell, 25,000..... tell 100,000...
It might be low margin (or no margin) to do the "Brain Health Registry" work.... but once you have that pool of "filtered" clinical trial candidates... you become an even more sought after resource.
The word is getting out... and you are creating something (the pool of assessed candidates) from virtually nothing.
Starving out competition at the same time.... sort of like Google.... provide the service for peanuts... but own the space when the trials ($$$) happen.
Nice strategy. And plonked right in the middle one of the richest parts of the USA.
People who don't just care about horrible sickness.... they got the extra cash to help fight it.
All the time rubbing shoulders with the pharma people.

Quote below from Cali write-up (italics mine)....
"Launched in San Francisco in April 2014 by the University of California, San Francisco, the Brain Health Registry promises to significantly cut the time and cost of conducting clinical trials for brain diseases. USC is the registry’s first targeted expansion outside of Northern California."
"Brain Health Registry organizers hope to recruit 100,000 people by the end of 2017. More than 25,000 volunteers, primarily from the San Francisco Bay Area, have joined the registry so far"
