Thanks Pt, thinking about what we know so far about how the device operates, I wonder if the Protean WEC would actually work better in an array? We know that wave energy dissipation is complicated. Increased wave non-linearity occurs as waves enter very shallow water, frequency dispersion diminishes and resonant interactions dominate, possibly contributing to more energy availability? The device is sensitive and can operate well in small (low wave energy) environments. As Sean Moore has always said the key is capturing energy from every motion in the resonant interactions that would occur in an array, close to shore. This IMO is the key: every hour of the day, every month, every season, every year a bobbing array creating energy free from the chaotic energy rich shallow water from shorelines around the world.
